Christianne Dixon

Owner/Director
Landscape Designer/Horticulturalist/Florist

The director of a company must have a true passion for their work; Christianne is no exception. Her long-standing love affair with gardening and the elements of landscape design was first encountered while working as the Greenhouse Manager at the Waterloo Oxford Co-op. There, her enthusiasm and flair for horticulture was quickly noted and she was specifically headhunted to work for Greenway Blooming Centre where she helped in creating an entirely new learning centre for the company, which incorporated gardens that naturally attracted butterflies, birds, insects, and other animals. She then set out to obtain her Horticulture and Landscape Design accreditation from Guelph University where she further specialized in plant propagation, plant identification, landscape construction, and design. Upon completing her studies, Christianne began working towards bringing her vision of creating a truly forward-thinking Landscaping company to life. One that remains on the cutting edge of design and endeavors to conceive truly innovative and creative outdoor spaces for its clients. This vision remains as strong today as the day the company began in 2004 and is now complemented by an entire team of like-minded individuals working cohesively to achieve a common goal for its clients.

What made you gravitate towards Horticulture and Landscape Design as a career?

I’ve always had a distinct love for the outdoors, as a child, my siblings and I spent most of our time outdoors, exploring, camping, building forts, planting and even just enjoying playing in the dirt! My parents both have a passion for the outdoors so my interest likely stemmed from that as they always encouraged us to get out and enjoy the outdoors as often as possible. My love for rocks and various landscape textures is deeply rooted from my father, a geologist, who was always bringing home different core samples for us to admire and quiz us about. Having parents that really encouraged me to do what I loved gave me the confidence to create a business out of my passion for plants, landscapes and simply being outdoors, so it was natural progression really and its made me want to keep taking things further, continually expanding on my horticultural knowledge, eventually leading me to become a plant specialist. I just love sharing the knowledge I’ve gained with my clients, helping them get the best possible experience out of their own unique outdoor spaces!
